10 new and older tunes recommended by Daniel Fritschi

Published: 04-02-2007

Antonelli Electr. - Kimbo (Level Records08)
OK, self-promotion, but everybody who likes deep melodic minimal should check this out.

Anders Ilar - Abc (audio.nl 033)
Two acid-tracks with that special Anders Ilar flavor, plus a more minimal b2 track - very nice, but not released yet.

Norken - The Lost Day EP (Delsin Records)
4-track 12" from 2000, but still one of my favorite records. Very deep and dreamy tracks, two with a electro-like beat.

Alejandro Lopez - Poligono Frecuecias EP (Pariter01)
First release of the Sushitech sub-label. I already liked the release on Minimise and here are three very good dance floor-tracks.

Pantha du Prince - This Bliss (Dial-lp09)
Dial is one of my favorite labels and this LP is no exception to their consistent high quality.

Alka Rex - Mugen Vugen EP (Musique Risquée)
I really like this one; funky and weird on Akufen’s Label.

Cornell - Salamander (Minimise29)
Two tracks; one more spooky and dark, and the other, which I prefer, in a more typical Minimise-style.

Mujuice - Monochrome EP (pro-tez03)
Highly recommended 4-tracker. Very deep and clicky minimal with an interesting way of using vocals.

Portable - Speak Out (Sud09)
Took me a few listens before I really got into this EP because I often have problems with vocals. But we have two good tracks from Portable here, who is probably the only reason for me to rethink my attitude towards tribal elements in Techno.

Mike Shannon - The Hang Up (Wagon Repair19)
Mike Shannon has had quite a lot of output recently, here again with his typical shuffle-funk.
