Wasup All You Cool Cats and Fine Felines!

Man it’s been awhile since I threw down some type of thoughts on paper. I could make all sorts of excuses like my gig schedule and studio time have been out of control or since Intergroove went bankrupt I’ve had to restructure the record label or I met a girl who I’m totally in love with or whatever…but the plain truth is pretty much that I’m lazy and disorganized. Yeah, all that other stuff happened too but there’s no excuse not to sit down every once in awhile and sum up what’s been going on and what’s in my head.

It’s been about 6 months since I touched down on paper what’s happening. I’ve had some great gigs worldwide but one thing I want to talk about are the great gigs I’ve been having in my base of operations…Houston, USA! It’s wild because I feel like the scene in Houston right now is just as dynamic as almost anywhere in the USA. The promoter, who I play exclusively for, here in Houston, is bringing some of the best talent in the world to Houston. His name is Sean Carnahan and his production company is 77002 Productions. Peep him out on the web at 77002.com.

It’s cool cause when I’m home off the road I’m able to enjoy playing with some of my friends and peers, guys like John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie and Hector Romero, Josh Wink, Ali from Deep Dish and other cool cats like that. It’s especially sweet cause I get to play the opening set and I can play really deep spacey house or whatever I’m feeling. I love deeper stuff and I never get a chance to play it on the road cause you have to bring the energy at headlining gigs!! This past weekend I headlined a party here with my buddy John Creamer and the place was packed with like 600 people going off! It was dark and dirty and just how we like it.

On New Years Eve this past year, instead of hitting the road, I chose to stay in Houston and play here with Rabbit In The Moon. The night was so epic that I’ve decided I just might have to post up in Houston for NYE from now on! I rocked a low slung nasty set for like 1200 peeps and then Rabbit In The Moon got on and played their classic live act. If you’ve never seen them live you should make it a priority!

So Houston has been off the hook but gigs in other cities and countries have been great as well! It’s so easy to rock floors these days cause people are just eating it up. I’m not into the electro/minimal thing too much…a few tracks here and there are good but mostly I’m still playing the filtered basslines and cracking percussion that I’m known for. Some of the more memorable gigs over the past year or so have been in Tokyo at Air, Shanghai at DKD, Cordoba at Lokitas, L.A. at Avalon and many others…

Another thing I’m excited about right now is the radio show that my label, MyntMusic is doing. It’s called Group Dynamics and it’s currently licensed to Proton Radio, which is a great internet radio station that can be found at protonradio.com. It’s on every first and third Wednesday of the month so go check it out! It’s got some nice sets from lots of guys from the MyntMusic camp as well as djs from around the world…

So be sure to look out for the newest release from MyntMusic on d-igital.com/myntmusic That’s our download store! Of course you can also get them at beatport.com or djdownloads.com or itunes.com or a host of other music download sites on the internet. We lost our distributor when Intergroove UK went under so while my business peeps iron out our vinyl distribution situation, I told them to keep dropping hotness as digital downloads!

I’m getting ready to hit the road for the next few months and I’m hitting up some old favorite spots like Mexico City, Tokyo and Buenos Aires. I’m also touching down in some new cities like Rosario in Argentina and Fukuoka in Japan that I’ve never been to so tune back next time and I will let you know what’s cracking in these new markets!

Massive Love and Respekt!!!!
