Chris Sterio’s journey in the world of dance music, has been one that has been different than most. His inspirational creation of Source of Gravity has taken him to the far corner the globe in every sense of the word. Trying his hand at every aspect of the creative process has been key. The running of his now 3 labels Source of Gravity (19 releases to date) and Gravitation Records (17 releases to date), Source of Gravity Digital (2 releases to date), DJing in clubs and providing mixes for radio stations in over 15 countries, producing tracks with some of the progressive scene’s maverick producers, as well as reviewing and promoting events has seen Source of Gravity and Chris Sterio spread to almost every corner of the worldwide dance scene. All the above have highlighted Chris as somebody with a passion for the music, and a creative force different from the norm.

Chris' DJ style balances the aggressive and emotional sides of progressive with a strong feel for a crowd and the energy required to fill a dancefloor. He enjoys playing a warm up set as well as the main event, as his in-depth understanding of dance music is second to none. Across the board from his DJing, production and labels there a clear theme of emotional progressive music that highlights his strong connection to the music. As a result of this, Chris has played around the UK at some of the best underground nights on offer, and made several trips further a field to Greece, America, Portugal and Corfu. Several other international trips are also in the pipeline. Chris also writes reviews for the djsinbox.com and beatfactor.net websites.

These achievements have seen the Source of Gravity project pioneered by Chris receive acclaim from almost every possible name in the progressive scene. His Source of Gravity label has been supported by the biggest DJs on the planet with John Digweed, Sasha, Chris Fortier, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo regular players of Source of Gravity/Gravitation material. His productions in collaborative or solo form with Source of Gravity artists under the Source of Gravity, Chris Sterio, Sterio & McGrath, Outlanders, 4th Orbit, Blast Furnace and Shanghai Corporation names, have received similar support as well as compilation licensing’s in Belgium, Germany, Holland, the UK and the USA. These productions have seen releases on Dorigen, Pied Piper, Mechanism, 3 Beat, Nascent as well as Source of Gravity and Gravitation, with more releases to come in the future. Support in the dance media has come in Muzik, M8 Magazine, DJ Magazine, IDJ plus many more magazines and websites worldwide.

2004 saw Chris start his own weekly radio show on Energy FM, a mainstream radio station in his native Isle of Man, his Sterio & McGrath – Hostile Ground track on Dave Seaman’s Renaissance album, mixes for radio stations in Germany, USA, Argentina, Greece, Scotland and Belgium, where he provides a monthly mix for Rotationz Radio, as well several releases on his labels. The Gravitation label also has saw another compilation licensing, this time in Germany. Chris also set up a Source of Gravity Records Promo Pool, with DJs subscribing across the globe. Perhaps the most innovative move came at the end of the year with the launch of Source of Gravity Digital, releases by Katakana and Orchid & Narcose have already been lined up for 2005. There are also an “Orion” series of bootlegs lined up for release over the year. Coupled with a new residency at the “Future Funk” events in the Isle of Man, a US tour in October, various Source of Gravity events lined up across the UK, two remixes on US labels Pangea & Propulsion along with the release of Chris’ second solo single “Database”, it looks like another strong year for Mr Sterio…
