Jonty Skrufff
Country: United Kingdom

THE OUTLINE: Just over 2 years after he launched his DJ career at uber-cool London club Golf Sale, Jonty Skrufff has established himself as a leading player on the global alternative electro scene, spinning dirty rocking electro-disco-tech everywhere from Brazil (Amp Galaxy/ Dama de Ferro) to China (Volar) Berlin (Club Rio/ Club Ruder, King Kong Club, Sage Club) and beyond (including Croatia, Serbia, Israel, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Japan).
DJ-ING: Also playing regularly at London’s coolest cutting edge mixed clubs (including Trailer Trash, Torture Garden, Studio Neon and mad tranny fetish institution Kaos) he’s also DJed at London superclubs Ministry Of Sound, Heaven and Fabric (holding a 9 month residency at DTPM) and next plays Turnmills in March. He’s also played festivals in Czech Republic (Citadela) and Serbia, performing 3 nights running at the acclaimed Exit Festival last year (including a headline set at Exit’s Electrana stage).
Staying overseas, he starts 2007 with repeat dates at the Roxy (Prague), Flesh for Fantasy (Berlin) plus upcoming bookings in Ibiza (Pacha), Slovenia and the Middle East (Bahrain and Dubai) with additional slots ‘to be confirmed’ imminently in Hong Kong, Serbia, Croatia and more.
MUSIC PRODUCTION & LABELS: Jonty also produces and presents the Skrufff Show on Ministry Of Sound Radio which is broadcast every Sunday evening (20.00-22.00 GMT) from Ministry’s London studios and has also started producing music, kicking off 2007 with a cheeky bootleg ‘I Like It 69 On Acid With Jonty Skrufff Remix’.
Combining Traxx Dillaz’ 15 Years On Acid with Fidelity Kastrow’s I Like It 69, the track has already received fantastic support from tastemakers including Princess Superstar (‘Oh my God, I love it’) Judge Jules (‘Cheers for the track- I think it’s very strong- something I’ll definitely be playing out’) and Larry Tee (‘I like it’) and could soon receive an official release (subject to clearance). He’s also currently working on more remixes and new material with producers in both London and Berlin where he now spends one to two weeks a month, every month.
RECENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS: Alongside his thriving music/ DJing activities, Jonty continues to run his hugely credible alternative press agency Skrufff.com and publish his acclaimed e-zine Skrufff-E, specialising in stories about sex, drugs, politics and music.
