Newcastle lads Andy Horsefield and James Todd moved from humble beginnings selling their own mix tapes to selling big name DJ-led mix CDs all over the world. Taking the idea of the superstar DJ to its logical conclusion, their Global Underground series features mixes from the world's finest DJs and the world's most exotic locations. Paul Oakenfold in Oslo and New York, Nick Warren in Brazil, Budapest and Prague, John Digweed in Hong Kong and Sydney, and Tony de Vit in Tel Aviv and Tokyo, the list goes on..; the idea has proved hugely popular and highly lucrative worldwide. Andy and James take the whole thing in their stride - the Fat Lads, as they are known, remain based in Newcastle, staying true to their motto, 'don't take life too seriously', and forging ahead with GU and linked labels Quad, Coded Vinyl, Halogen and Nu Breed
