Silver PlanetSilver Planet Recordings and Blue Planet Recordings were set up in the summer of 1996 by a collective of music-loving individuals as forward thinking independent dance imprints. In it's early days, Silver Planet put out fine releases and mixes from the likes of Way Out West, Starecase and Paul van Dyk. The label which championed the more melodic progressive trance launched its first compilation entitled The Silver Planet Collection Volume 1 mixed by none other than Way Out West. In 1999, the label edged more toward a tougher dub sound, and later in that year became established as a major player with the release od the brilliant Horizons by Jame Holden.
Over the years it's found it's way into the boxes of all the big jocks including Sasha, Diggers, and Nick Warren.
The label recently celebrated its 50th release with a special 50th Anniversary Pack which established the label as one of the strongest and most consistent house labels around, and there is no doubt that this trend is set to continue with the labels forward-thinking policy of signing young fresh talent like Chris Salt, Luke Dzierzek, Orchid, BCML, Ben Camp and Main Element.
