PJ Davy - One Hour Second & Call It What You Want

EQ

Published: 16-04-2004
Words: Justin
With support from DJs like John Digweed and James Zabiela, PJ Davy’s debut is a two tracker incorporating elements of electro and tech house with bleepy tones and quirky basslines. One Hour Second begins with cute melodic bleeps reminiscent of Rozzo’s 1994 “Into Your Heart”. A raw pulsating bass and a female voice then join the bleeps providing a quirky feel, taking the track to its breakdown. A dark synth chord surfaces after the breakdown gives a tough edge to the track before slowly fading out towards he end. Call It What You Want is featured on James Zabiela’s “Sound In Motion”. Old skool drum patterns and high hats start the track off before a wobbly bassline emerges giving the track a bouncy feel. A dark, low bassline punctuated by electro bleeps creeps in, taking the track to its breakdown, where the electro bleeps form a cute melody that grows rapidly on you. Simple and infectious.
