The Spanish duo has arrived at the third compilation from the series “This Is …Iberican Sound!”, a cd which brings the fresh air from Madrid’s clubs, containing 14 tribal house, funky house and house tracks. I can say that the producing activity of the two guys is remarkable, the duo managing four labels: Stereo Productions, Iberican Recordings, Stereo Cool! and Solar Recordings. “Iberican Sound!” seems to be what they have developed best, improved and enriched in the electronic music, promoting a representative style of music, specific for the space where they live and they represent. This cd contains five unreleased tracks, as promos, and mixed with the other tr5acks, I’m sure it will relax and enchant you. This unique style as they affirm is global-deep-sexy-tribal, a musical genre inspired from the Iberican peninsula’s specific, and also from their way of living and perceiving the world they live in.
The mix starts slowly, with the “In Stereo” acapella version, from Chus & Ceballos themselves, and very quick we enter the compilation’s pulse with Sin Plomo feat. Janet Taylor and the track “It’s You”. The tranquil and the discrete and sublime funky atmosphere is carried, enthralling the listeners and inviting them on a journey of house music commencement. The funky grooves, the warm bass line and the smooth synths, all these make that the sea’s breeze to come into your house, to get you into the groove and to offer moments of recreation and joy. After that superb voice which slowly hides out, we discover the sound of the tribal house, with Muzzaik and the track “Exchange Your Soul”. The things are still really cool, the constant and unique rhythm dominating the the atmosphere, as a leader of the entire compilation. We find again Chus & Ceballos’ “In Stereo” acapella, project which has become some kind of emblem for them. After some sexy synths, When Is Dark brings up the track “The Love U Need” a very pleasant mixture of funky and tribal, a perfect arrangement which reminds me of the Steve Lawler’s unique style. We take breath for a few moments with the help of a breakdown which brings also a male vocal which hums a nice little song, and after that things become much intense, the rhythm being accelerated and becoming pretty ardent, due to the bare synths. The vocal continues long time after the break down, annexed to a pure energetic bass line, after that the dynamism goes down gradually, slowly loosing it at the entrance of Papacha and the track “Sentossa Chus & Ceballos Delhiberican remix)”. A little flavor, a sweet and skittish sound, and expensive, but extremely appealing, all these elements composing this track, in the shape of a remix produced by the Spanish duo. The sounds enter one by one, forming cute and temperate melodic ranks, which together with the rhythm produce in the listener’s soul unique sensations, which make him to get out of the house and sprint into a club where he can dance free, unleashing himself. The fifth track is produced by the two producers themselves, Chus & Ceballos, “Echoes from Doruma”, a veritable tribal which respire energy and rhythm through all the sounds and which will make the whole body to move. It’s interesting that the sounds are opened, optimistic, and not pessimistic, dark and somber. The spicy synths and the odd tribals are keeping the listener connected, offering him unique experiences. Moth feat. Engeline changes the atmosphere with “Foxy (De Loren & Colors remix)”, getting a warm to the spirit with the feminine vocals and bringing an exceptional bass line which looses itself on the rhythm’s waves. The synths build here a nice melody, lifting up the mix’s level. The tribals get head on the next track, “Sleepwalker (Legaz Project remix)”, produced by De Loren & Colors, on which is transposed the accapella of Pete tha zouk & Di Simmon – “The Sound of the Drums”. And finally we arrive at the well known “In Stereo” from Chus & Ceballos vs Tedd Patterson, the protagonists of a project that opt in favor of the stereophony in sound. After such a big success, “In Stereo” is still featured on tribal house compilation, and this thing shows that this is not another tribal track. The house sessions continues with D – Formation vs Riva and the track “Work Together”, an unreleased track. The atmosphere gets warm and calm a little, the mix accumulating with this track new melodic lines, from the confuse and somber sounds to a sublime, full of mister and charm melody. After an amazing break down, a series of killer tribals lead the track to another unreleased project of Chus & Ceballos, “Iberican Sound (Pete Tha Zouk remix)”. A superb track, not only by its dement rhythm but also by its existent sounds, track which wakes up even the most sleepy persons, not especially for dance, just wakes up their conscience. The track accumulates the whole specific from the peninsula, all the habits, traditions, adapted to a nonconformist genre of music and expressing to the listeners. The track also brings in focus archaic and primitive sounds, which lost a long time ago their actuality. After the excellent remix of “Iberican Sound”, the mix continues with Eric Entrena and the track “Here comes that sound (Barcelona’s tribal mix)”, an amalgamation of tribals which quivers, giving color and dynamism. Richie Santana appears together with Chus & Ceballos with a very good track, with delicious and delicate sounds; “Low Frequencies (D-Formation remix)” is another unreleased track which brings some melody, calling the listener’s sensitivity. A daring and very jazzy bass line builds the mix after a repeated pattern. “Over (De Nada Mix)” is the track produced by Martin H, featured also on this compilation. A perfect track, which caught my attention by its profound strings and synths which form a powerful melody, coming from those short sounds on a high frequency. After a memorable breakdown, the track fully restarts, waiting for Botz + Flydrums and the track which ends up this compilation, “Celtic Rain”. One of the most melodic and atmospheric tracks on this cd, with almost no tribals and that naughty and tough rhythm, perpetual and almost unchanged. An excellent track for final, “Celtic rain” contains some kind of unreal melodic lines, alongside the acapella of “Crysalis – Colors & Legaz “, but the most interesting things are the instruments used. I just puzzle out the guitar, some kind of pipe and many electronic sounds which together give a track full of flavor and quality.
We momentary say goodbye to these two djs and producers, Chus & Ceballos, not before thanking for the music and the pleasant moments offered to us with any new material they release. 14 tracks full of the night clubs euphoria, but also full of the pure melodies ethereal, the daring rhythm and abstract tribals, Iberican Sound vol. 3 is an exceptional modality of knowing better the world and the specific from the Iberican peninsula.
