If the first two EPs released on Level records have been made by producers hailing from Dusseldorf, Germany, the third one comes from Fax, a Mexican producer, also known for releases on Traumschallplatten, Staticdiscos, Rocketrancer and Interdisco, beside features on compilations and remixes. “Bilateral EP” provides four very sweet minimal tunes with a meditative and deep sound.
The A side contains two tracks, among which first one is “Coda”, a repetitive minimal, very simple and sublime, peaceful and very relaxing, music which opens a new manner of seeing the world, a special music with a dense content of meanings and senses which the producer wants to express. The other song, “Llama”, wants to be much kicking, or at least more indicated for club, but it continues the peaceful and warm line of the previous track, making us enjoy a few unique and controversial sounds.
On the flip side can be found the other two tracks which will make us feel a self-abandonment for a few minutes, first one “Bajotierra”, and the other one “Piel”, two minimal tracks with a pretty weird sound, but extremely appealing and interesting.
Seems that Level recruits its productions with very much carefulness, selecting it after some very precise criteria, which is appreciable and eulogized. Another exceptional release from a talent about whom we will hear some more no doubt, Fax. And this is his “Bilateral EP”.
