Chicken Lips - Motion Sickness

ADRIFT RECORDS

Published: 3-06-2006
Words: Dragos Rusu
Chicken Lips is Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith. Starting to produce back in ’99, the duo made several EPs acclaimed by DJs such as Pete Tong or James Lavelle. Not only producing music, but Chicken Lips also means DJ-ing; their close friend Stevie “Fella” Kotey became Chicken Lips DJ. The guys have just finished their artist album called Making Faces, and this is the third single taken from the album, released on Adrift Records
The first track is the original mix, a twisted guitar disco funk track. The astonishing vocals belong to Jonny Spencer. The track is not actually an electronic mind trip, but a live performance, a rock & roll sensation, really interesting indeed.

Rekid mix is another slow guitar experience. Rekid aka Radio Slave built an open minded remix, starting from the paranoid strings and finishing with the soft rhythm.

Getting really close to the original mix, the live performance from Stromba makes yet another very sexy track.

This is just a muster from what the entire album throws out. Chicken Lips is back in the public’s eye with this very solid built album named Making Faces. Electro, disco, tech-funk, house and soul is not all Chicken Lips has to offer, but also live-instruments music, guaranteeing quality.
