After the excellent package delivered by Loco Dice for Josh Wink's imprint Ovum Recordings, the latest release comes from a duo consisting in Christian Smith and John Selway. 'El Gallo Negro / Flight LB 7475' was also received with a lot of enthuziasm by the public, so there are big expectations from this one too. Silver Bullet consists of two tracks, one of them being a remix from the techno Glasgow established duo Slam. The original received a great feedback, being one of the tracks which was closing the party's from Ibiza this summer. Minimal techno combined with techno is the special vibe which flows from this great production.
As for the remix, things are cooler and a little bit melodic. The vibe is still there, only that the Soma guys made a little different tune from the originbal, which definitely is the master-piece on this EP.
I can say that Ovum is one of the most respected, longeval and important record labels from the techno scene. From far the early feedback on this EP came from Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Marco Bailey, Hernan Cattaneo, Chris Fortier, James Mowbray, Pascal F.E.O.S., Heiko M/S/O, and Lawrence. |
