Spirit Catcher – Night Vision

20:20 VISION

Published: 31-01-2007
Words: Dragos Rusu
Spirit Catcher are more that seven years old and have worked with an impressive number of record labels. Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet bring us on their debut album a collection of 11 original tracks, between which some fresh productions.
Released at the prestigious label, 2020 Vision, the album Night Vision is a journey into different music styles that have made the two artists famous. The album starts with Motown Spring, a calm and relaxing production, somewhere between funk and funky house. The tempo is very slow, it is a track more for pubs, rather than clubs. In no time, Roller Coaster cheers up the listeners, offering an acid and melodic house, with a powerful funky accent. We can find something similar with Space Crash and Hidden Memories.

Maybe only Night Vision is one of the few tracks that fits in the club atmosphere. Rhythm, passion and life are the words that characterize this track. The same we can say for Search Is Over, a track that is very much alike with the remix Spirit Catcher made for Satoshi Tomiie’s track Glow.

‘Night Vision’ is more and album that should de listened at home. Many of the tracks won’t be heard in clubs, or what will be heard will surely be remixes. The album is for sure a must have for the fans of warm sounds, but also for those who prefer a chill, refreshing house.
