Also on EP with one track (which is Sao Paolo) this “Play! 01” compilation is nothing more than almost 80 minutes of pure electronic dance music: electro, techno and even minimal techno. Starting off with the excellent remix from Wxtrawelt to the track 51 Poland Street originally made by H-Man, this mix starts at least interesting; the listeners are able to anticipate some great tunes to be followed. And actually this is true. Shokh & Star – Lirum, Pelle Buys - Sad Feelings and Jurgens - Love It deliver a great sound, combining with attitude the minimal sound with some smooth electro sharps. The mix is recorded live, so the listeners can even hear the noises from the club, the screams from the crowd. Not long after, the Border Community hero Petter makes his entrance with Some Polyphony, one of the best tracks of the last autumn. From this moment, the mix starts to become more electro, with Gui Boratto’s Division track and Huggotron’s Superkiller. Live effects, flangers, echoes and a few loops it’s enough to enhance the atmosphere from this mix.

In a few minutes we meet Oliver’s own Sao Paolo track from the Play! 01 EP and later a nice tune from Sebastien Leger. The Knife are almost ready to close the compilation with the track Like a Pen, but it’s time for two more tunes, first one from Oscar and the last one comes from Rekorder, the excellent Rekorder 8.1 track.

Released on Confused Recordings (Oliver's own music platform), this mix CD is a great opportunity if you’re looking for some music to bounce on it. Especially because it’s recorded live and you can even hear the whole noise made by the crowd.
